"Belle" VS Pregnancy🤰 🤰

 I bet you never knew before now you always thought each time a woman takes in it's called pregnancy. I thought so too but today I know better and guess what , I'm about to school you for free!😜. Let's roll!!

Usually when a patient comes to labour ward, history taking involves asking the woman how many times she has been pregnant. The reply most times is "I don first get 2 children, this one go make am 3". So we go further to explain that it includes miscarriages, abortions and stillbirths, that's when we get our actual answer.

This day I had a patient so  I asked her the same question. She answered "this is my sixth pregnancy" so I went further , then she answered "abortion shuuuuu, that na normal thing" . It was at this point she schooled me. (Feel free to get a pen and "jot things down *in josh2funny's voice*) "The one wey we get for husband house na pregnancy, but before husband house when we dey do guys that one na Belle😂😂. Interesting!

I had to ask further, "how many?"  Her answer was "just write am for there uncountable". How do I document this one now 🤷🤷 Gravida uncountable, para what plus what?? ( If you don't understand this just skip😝 it's a medical jargon)

To make every easy, I just asked her 'you mean like 10? She looked at me in a way I can't describe (not a bad way though) and said nothing. So again I asked like 20?? She finally answered ooo . She said "sheybi if na 10, I go fit count am, if na 20 I go fit count, once e pass 20 how I wan take count?? My fine nurse I've lost count oo

So I'm just wondering, this life really no balance ooo. While someone is out there who got married as a virgin but hasn't gotten pregnant once, another is here who got a lot when she wasn't ready and still had 6healthy children when she was ready. What can I say, all power belongs to God.

I enjoyed talking to the woman and nursing her till she had her baby. She was just free and gave me no stress. In the end, i meet different people everyday and hearing their stories strengthens my ability to listen and not judge.

When I see women with their 6th , 7th ,8th ... pregnancy in this century, I mean these times we're in now; all I say is wow, just wow, you're the real MVP!  Did you enjoy the last baby story? Well if you did ,you're in luck because this is another baby story! This one is shorter with less drama, but maybe a little more emotions and guess what— it's the daddy this time!🥰🤗🙈. Anyways, I'd leave you to decide which ingredient is more; drama or emotions. Again I had another pregnant mother who was also a Soon to be first time mom. I already told you the special bond and love I have for first time moms. Every mom is special, whether it's the first or twentieth child.  It's hard for me to exactly pinpoint what lesson I'm bringing out from this story. I'm even uncertain who the story revolves around— the new mom, her husband, her mother in-law or 🤷. I think I'd just tell the story. One day while on duty as the only nurse in neonatal unit , a baby was brought from the labour ward, freshly delivered, new to planet Earth. Unfortunately she wasn't in a great condition. I'm going to try to describe the situation as good as I can without using any medical jargon. Her temperature was subnormal, her sugar level was ridiculously low, the level of oxygen saturation was scary, you could hear her labouring to breathe— she was grunting, the palms and sole were somewhat blue.   Her situation required immediate attention , so I sent the father to get a case note while I  swung to action with the unit doctor.
