A love story ❤️

Let me tell you a love story💚💚💚

Enjoy the read!

During internship, I was fortunate enough to have done my antenatal posting before Labour ward (I somehow managed not be a victim of scattered posting ; female medical today, children emergencytomorrow,  maternity ward next year and back to male medical).

Anyways, by the time I was in labor ward , most of my patients were those whom I nursed at Antenatal clinic. Many of them felt safe meeting their "friend" in labor ward.

My songs and health talks in antenatal are second to none🙈🙈, sweet like "shuga". It sha felt good to be trusted😝

One in particular almost got me angry but you know I'm born again so the Love of God shed abroad in my heart took over---Hallelujah somebori💃🏿💃🏿. I had asked her some questions , whose answers would be needed for her management ,she gave some silly replies and even told me I was disturbing her. So I jejely left and told her "the other nurses on duty will attend to you". I had not even taken 3steps away when she started begging me — she went "ah ah my nurse no be you dey sing for us for antenatal, you wan con leave me?"

I forgot to mention that there are hundreds of them so sometimes they recognize me before I do(them plenty die, is like there's a place they share this pregnancy, so those of you always screaming "my ovaries", "my fallopian tube" even "my testes" , I'll try to get location for you so you can collect your own, have your own fine baby and stop screaming).

Ehen, where was I oh🤔 *scratches head* Okay she was one of those that I didn't exactly recognize. My heart melted, Asin it went from rock solid to molten magma (I really just want to speak grammar🤣🤣) in split seconds. I didn't even bother to continue with my "shakara", I just couldn't jarey🙈.

I went back to her  like we  were a couple that had a slight misunderstanding, (Asin the type of scene and couple goals you'd see that will make you shout "God when"? This statement that I put in the bracket ,I'm not sure it sits properly here or even  makes sense, but you know what??? , I typed what I typed! and we do what?? We meuuuuuuuvvve!🙃😋🤪🤪) I almost hugged her but I didn't.

She went ahead to apologize and I was glad I didn't say anything harsh (you should even know that it's not in my nature to be harsh, I'm ya favorite nurse anytime , any day😉✌🏼)

I managed her, checked on her from time to time and mehn in some hours , to the Glory of God  she had a beautiful princess with no complications-------Praiiiiiiiise master Jesus.Everything was done , mother and baby doing well so she was discharged soon enough.

A few months later , I met her at family planning clinic. I'm like madam you dey follow me🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️? She had come for family planning and she was carrying her baby— I mean my baby🥰🥰 the one I helped her deliver😝.

The baby was looking so fine, well nurtured, properly dressed  and healthy. Her mum was clearly taking good care of her and it pleased me.So I turn to the baby after exchanging pleasantries with the woman; I say to her "young woman , do you know me? I've been taking care of you since you were in the womb o"

Guys guys guys, the baby's reaction was epic! She gave me a huge and beautiful baby smile, I don't know but it seemed like she understood what I said. Then she stretched her arms wanting me to carry her. To say I was happy is an enormous understatement. I was grinning from ear to ear. My mouth almost tore from smiling widely😀😀😀. The mom was surprised too, it was a beautiful moment and I honestly wished it was captured in a video.

Anyways the moral lesson of the story is--------> Even the babies in the womb know that I'm your favorite nurse! and I'll forever be😋😋. The fetuses love me, excuse me who are you not to😜😋?? You love me jor, you no jus wan talk am come outside, no wahala, so long as you keep visiting  my blog ,read a story or two and invite others to do same ! I'm certain that you haven't read all the stories here.

Thank you for reading.

Love always 💚

  1. I wish more women encounter nurses like you in the visits to the hospital. The complaints and horrifying tales of patients encounter with nurses especially those in the labour ward can be disheartening. What do u think can be done to improve patient/ nurse relationship in the hospital.
